RostaMan College Football FAQ
Latest Rosters/Schedule Update: Sun, Dec. 13, 2009
Version 2.0 is here! It includes a full player search by name or hometown/prev. school, easier access to your favorite teams by "pinning" them to the top of the Teams and Schedule pages, and full team schedules.
Which teams' rosters are included?
All 120 Division 1-A (Football Bowl Subdivision) teams are included in the app.
When I click on one of the away or home teams it says "No data for away team." Why not?
The team is either not a Division 1-A (FBS) team, or it is a bowl game for which a team has not yet been announced.
There are two players that have the same number on a team. What gives?
As many teams have over 99 players, those teams double up on some numbers. But there can be only one number on offense or defense. You can have a QB and DB share the same number, but not a QB and WR. That's why the player's position has been prominently displayed in the roster view to help distinguish.
How long am I entitled to receive updates?
You will receive updates for the entire season during which you purchased the app. For future seasons, "in-app" purchases of updated rosters is being explored.
Do I need an Internet connection to view rosters?
No. The rosters are embedded in the app allowing you to view them at any time. Updates, however, do require an Internet connection and due to heavy cellular traffic at some stadiums on gameday, it is recommended you make sure you are up to date ahead of time.
How do I receive updates?
By default, "Get Updates at Launch" is enabled in your preferences. This allows for a check of roster and schedule changes each time you open the app. This is an automated process which you will be able to view progress and cancel if desired.
When are updates released?
While this depends upon when new data is available, updates will typically happen no more than once per week before the week's slate of scheduled games.
What is Reset Database?
While Rostaman has been tested to prevent problems with your app, and it should generally not be necessary, Reset Database has been added in the event you are experiencing trouble with your app. It will reset to the original database version bundled with the app. Any updates will once again be performed next time the app is launched.
